Outcome Measurement Tools iOutcome Measurement Tools Significant improvement refers to the percentage of consumers who show a clinically meaningful change on the selected outcome tool between their first and last assessment. This is typically defined by the tool's reliable change index (RCI), not just any score movement. For example, a K10 score reduction of 6+ points is generally considered significant improvement.

Matched pairs refers to the percentage of consumers who have both an intake (pre) and a discharge or review (post) score recorded for the same tool. A matched pair is required to calculate whether improvement occurred. Services with low matched pair rates may be delivering effective care but lack the data to demonstrate it.
Higher matched pair rates strengthen your evidence base for contract reviews and funder reporting. Aim for 70%+ across all tools in use.
